Happy New Year

Well 2018 has been rung in ….

2017 was not a bad year, but I have high expectations for 2018.   Turning 50 in 2017 was a wake call for me.   I found so much gratitude with turning 50 and the fact that I was still alive after all I had been through.   Now that I am happy to be alive, life is getting shorter and I need to make some changes.

I am going to stop working this year with the family business, a decision I really struggled with.   I am so grateful that I have choices and that I am in a position to stop working.   Though being a part owner still has some perks.  It is my plan to volunteer and find some purpose in my life.    I am going to start working out again and get my healthy back.  I am getting out of my comfort zone and travel to Europe to visit my girls as they study and work abroad.  I am working at controlling my negative thoughts, my worry and anxiety.   I want to live my life to the fullest and quit being afraid.   That is the goal at least, which is definitely easier said than done.

I will do my best to continue to stay sober and embrace this sober way of life.   It is still difficult when everyone at a party is doing jello shots and you are awkwardly standing by – it does still suck sometimes.  It is my goal to keep on keeping on.

The struggle is real, but my hope is greater.

Happy 2018 and many blessing to you!
